Povijesna drama utemeljena na stvarnim događajima, engleski “Kraljev govor” Toma Hoopera dobio je čak 12 nominacija za nagradu Oscar, čija će se svečanost ove godine održati 27. veljače. Slijedi western braće Coen “True Grit” koji je zaradio 10 nominacija.
Po mnogima ovogodišnji favorit “Društvena mreža“, film o razvoju popularnog Facebooka, pomeo je konkurenciju u nedavnoj svečanosti predaje filmskih nagrada Zlatni globus, no kod Akademije je prošao nešto lošije s osam nominacija, što ne znači da neće trijumfirati u glavnim kategorijama, baš kao i pritajeni favoriti “Black Swan” s Natalie Portman u glavnoj ulozi, “127 sati” Dannya Boylea ili sportska drama “The Fighter“.
